Tablecloth Size & Drop Length Guide (North America)
Choosing the right tablecloth size is mainly about two things: your table dimensions and your desired drop length (how far the cloth hangs down). This guide covers both floor-length and non-floor-length drops, with practical recommendations for North American home tables and banquet/event tables.

- Table Top Size: the length × width (or diameter) of the table surface.
- Drop Length: how far the tablecloth hangs down from the tabletop edge.
- Finished Size: the final size of the tablecloth you order (top size + drops).
- Floor-Length Drop: the cloth reaches near the floor (formal look).
- Non-Floor Drop: the cloth hangs but stays above the floor (easy movement).
Step 1: Choose Your Drop Length
Drop length depends on the setting (home vs event), the look you want, and how people will move around the table. The most common North American drops are below.

Finished Length = Table Length + (2 × Drop)
Finished Width = Table Width + (2 × Drop)

Round tables:
Finished Diameter = Table Diameter + (2 × Drop)
If you use an underlay (table topper) or thick banquet padding, add about 1"–2" to the finished size for a smoother drape.
